Job description

The maintenance helper position is responsible for safely performing duties to light repair on production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Main Ingredients of the Job!

As a US FOODS® Battery Technician you will be responsible for assisting with and performing general maintenance functions on equipment, building, and grounds as required; assist the maintenance department in ensuring equipment is in good working order; perform general repairs; help the team troubleshoot, repair, and replace equipment from start to finish; maintain cleanliness of the area; and ensure food safety practices and all applicable requirements such as SQF are adhered to.

Schedule: Sunday–Thursday (2nd Shift)

What you bring to the table

Education/Training:

High School Diploma (required)

Related Experience/Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of clerical or other warehouse experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience preferred
  • Basic maintenance capabilities and repair skills
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency, follow associate and food safety policies, procedures, and guidelines, and work in a climate‑controlled environment (34–38°F)
  • Able to lift 75 lbs with assistance and multi‑task in a fast‑paced, noisy environment

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to support others in the department and the division
  • Clear communication both in writing and verbally; strong customer‑service ability with all levels inside and outside the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work on complex tasks and prioritize workload amid competing priorities

Compensation: expected base rate $24.00–$29.00 per hour with overtime potential and benefits including health insurance, retirement, paid time off, and other standard benefits. Detailed benefits information is available upon request.
