Job summary

Zēlos Energy Ltd in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Battery Systems Application Engineer to help commercialize our zinc-based battery technology. This full-time, on-site role is based at our lab in San Leandro, California, with responsibilities spanning cell and pack testing, prototype system development, and engagement with integration partners.

The ideal candidate has an engineering degree and 3+ years of hands-on experience in battery systems, testing equipment, and data analysis.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
3+ years of experience with rechargeable battery systems.
Hands-on experience with battery testing equipment and data acquisition.
Experience with battery chargers, BMS, and low-voltage design.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent technical communication skills.
Ability to work in a lab and startup environment.

Responsibilities

Lead technical interactions with customers and integration partners.
Review battery system architectures and support prototype integration.
Design and execute test plans for cells, modules, and packs.
Analyze test data and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
Design, assemble, and validate prototype battery modules and demonstration packs.
Develop electrical systems including chargers, BMS, and instrumentation.
Collaborate with cell engineering and product teams to transition designs.
