Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA, is looking for an Electrical Battery Engineer to join the Falcon & Dragon Avionics Hardware Development team. You will explore a battery\'s life cycle from development through production and launch with a focus on design, reliability, and manufacturing.

You will own battery assemblies, support BMS design and pack configurations, and collaborate across teams to improve reliability and manufacturability for flight applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 1+ years of hardware design experience.
• 1+ years of experience with electrical test equipment (multimeters, signal generators, oscilloscopes).

Responsibilities

• Own battery assemblies across the product life cycle.
• Support battery management systems and pack designs from requirements to in-flight operation.
• Define manufacturing requirements, specifications, and validation from cells to full packs.
• Collaborate with partner teams on cell selection, pack configuration, and system integration.
• Drive changes to schematics and drawings to improve reliability and manufacturability.
• Design test setups and validate hardware through benchtop and environmental testing campaigns.
• Optimize pack level system operation for degradation and reliability.
• Resolve production issues through assembly, test, and vehicle integration.
