Job summary

Briggs & Stratton, headquartered in Milwaukee, WI, seeks an Electrical Engineer III to support testing and validation of advanced battery products and systems.

You will develop test plans, perform hands-on validation, analyze data, and drive root-cause investigations while collaborating with design, controls, systems, manufacturing and reliability teams to ensure electrical safety, performance and durability of battery solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience with test/validation of complex systems.
• Hands-on experience in test plan development and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of DC power, measurement, grounding, and protection.
• Experience with data acquisition and analysis of electrical data.
• Experience with battery systems, BMS, power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute electrical test plans for battery systems.
• Translate requirements into test cases and validation procedures.
• Define test methods, instrumentation, and data acquisition needs.
• Perform hands-on testing in lab environments on hardware.
• Conduct functional, environmental, durability, and abuse testing as needed.
• Create automated test scripts and validation tools to improve efficiency.
• Document test methods, results, and conclusions.
• Lead root-cause investigations and cross-functional issue resolution.
• Correlate lab, prototype, and field test results.
• Ensure testing adheres to safety and regulatory requirements.
