Job summary

Cirba Solutions in Ohio is seeking a Process Safety Manager to lead the development and implementation of process safety systems in a battery recycling facility. You will ensure safe handling of lithium-ion batteries and other chemistries while driving regulatory compliance and incident prevention.

The role partners with operations, engineering, EHS, and regulatory agencies to protect employees and the community, and to support a sustainable recycling operation with continuous safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years in process safety, chemical manufacturing, or recycling industries; lithium-ion batteries preferred.
• CSP or CCPS certifications desirable.
• Deep knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and NFPA standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Process Safety Leadership: establish and maintain PSM programs for battery recycling operations.
• Hazard Identification & Risk Management: conduct HA/LOPA/FMEA for battery processes.
• Regulatory Oversight: ensure OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, NFPA and local regulations compliance.
• Incident Investigation: lead root cause analyses for fires, releases, and incidents.
• Emergency Preparedness: develop and test emergency response plans.
• Training & Awareness: train employees on safe handling of batteries and chemicals.
• Continuous Improvement: monitor safety KPIs and drive facility safety improvements.
• Collaboration: coordinate with operations, EHS, and regulatory agencies.
