Job summary

Paragon Space Development Corporation is seeking a Battery R&D Engineer to develop battery technologies for aerospace and terrestrial use, focusing on nominal thermal control and thermal runaway mitigation.

The role leads system requirements, architecture concepts, and detailed specifications while guiding proposals and design concepts in a hands-on environment. Based in Tucson, Houston, or Denver with cross-site collaboration.

Qualifications

5+ years of R&D experience or equivalent.
Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Doctorate degree in engineering or related field.
3+ years leading proposals for US government customers or primes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with thermal control system analysis; Thermal Desktop or FloCAD a plus.
US citizen or permanent resident.
Based in Tucson, AZ, or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

Lead execution of R&D programs within schedule and budget.
Develop battery technologies for spacecraft, spacesuits, aircraft, or the military.
Apply heat transfer, thermodynamics, and flow physics to battery design.
Evaluate team member work and provide expert guidance to improve concepts and designs.
Participate in development of product line strategies and roadmaps.
Regularly present technical findings to customers and advisors.
Collaborate with transition partners to enable adoption and integration of developed products.
Stay current with leading edge battery technologies and mitigations.
