Relativity Space, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer to own the high‑voltage battery system for Terran R.

You’ll learn current designs, shape architecture, and grow into technical leadership while collaborating with propulsion, GNC, and vehicle teams. You’ll turn mission needs into a traceable battery specification, drive safety and verification plans, and lead a small cross‑functional battery group toward scalable production readiness.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, chemical, or related).
• 5+ years of battery systems development across the product lifecycle (concept → design → qualification).
• Demonstrated ability to derive and own requirements top-down, with rigorous trade studies and traceable specifications.
• Proven cross-functional leadership and clear technical communication in fast-paced development environments.

Aufgaben

• Define battery requirements from the top down — energy, power, voltage, thermal, mass/volume, life.
• Own and maintain the battery specification— single source of truth with full traceability.
• Drive battery architecture and cell down-selection with cross-functional teams.
• Define and manage interface control between the battery and the vehicle.
• Represent the battery at vehicle design reviews and coordinate with suppliers.
