Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an electrical harness engineer in Berkeley, CA to contribute to battery module electronics and control systems. You will help with PCBA design, wire harness routing, connector selection, and harness fabrication drawings as part of a rapidly growing team.

The role requires collaboration across mechanical, electrical, and procurement, with emphasis on EMI design, shielding, and compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical OR Electrical Engineering.
2+ years experience in product development.
Hands-on electro-mechanical system and harness design experience.
Expertise with 3D CAD, PLM, and harness design software such as Zuken E3.
Experience reading electrical schematics and using twisted pair shielding.

Responsibilities

Work cross-functionally with Mechanical, Compliance, and Electrical engineers to define harness requirements, material, and connector selection.
Create and maintain 2D electrical harness single and multi-line schematics.
Draft fabrication, manufacturing, inspection, and assembly drawings for wire harness assemblies.
Identify suitable materials and components for wire harness assembly.
Work closely with procurement teams to source materials and components from approved suppliers.
Define routing, shielding, wire color, sealing, and EMI design specifications.
Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers on wire harness CAD routing through mechanical features and harness fixation points.
Troubleshoot wire harness bring-up and validation.
Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively to team members and management.
