Graphenix Development Inc. (GDI) in Rochester, NY is seeking a Battery Materials QA/QC Technician to support incoming materials inspection and QA data analysis in a battery R&D laboratory.

Responsibilities include inspecting/analyzing incoming electrode materials, assigning quality grades, and maintaining traceable records while collaborating with engineers and scientists on process improvements and root-cause investigations.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Battery Technology, or related technical field; equivalent experience considered.
• 0–5 years in laboratory testing, quality control, materials characterization, manufacturing, or related environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify differences and abnormalities in data.
• Comfortable working with computer-based inspection and analysis systems.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Ability to organize, analyze, and document data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar data-analysis tools.
• Ability to follow procedures while recognizing out-of-range results.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with engineers, scientists, and lab personnel.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming anode materials, sample and identify per procedures.
• Operate scanning/imaging equipment to inspect electrode materials for defects and quality.
• Process inspection data and evaluate material quality using internal software.
• Assign numerical quality grades based on criteria.
• Maintain records of inspections and grades with full traceability.
• Identify out-of-spec or unusual material conditions.
• Analyze data to identify trends and support QA decisions.
• Provide engineers with timely feedback regarding material quality.
• Support process improvement and yield enhancement initiatives.
• Collaborate with teams on root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
