Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a proactive engineer to drive development, validation, and continuous improvement of battery manufacturing processes at the Michigan plant. You will lead fault resolution, implement PFMEA and SOPs, and use Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to reduce waste while supporting new product launches and mentoring staff.

The role requires collaboration across design engineering, quality, supply chain, and EHS, with flexible shifts including weekends to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing or EV battery plant operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive development, validation, and continuous improvement of battery manufacturing processes.
• Lead fault resolution and equipment digitalization initiatives.
• Establish robust PFMEA, control plans, and SOPs for battery manufacturing.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to reduce waste and variation.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality, supply chain, and EHS teams.
• Support new product launches and root cause analysis for quality issues.
• Mentor operators and engineers and stay ahead of emerging battery tech.
