Job summary

East Penn is seeking a Lab Technician to support R&D and quality testing for battery technologies. You will work hands-on with various battery chemistries, perform tests, and help improve performance and safety.

The role requires a Technical School diploma (BS preferred) and strong skills in lab procedures, data recording, and basic mechanical/electrical knowledge. Team-based environment with opportunities to advance.

Qualifications

Technical School diploma required.
Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
Ability to read and understand lab procedures.
Capable of reading technical manuals and equipment documentation.
Basic understanding of geometry and algebra.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Familiarity with control programs and databases.

Responsibilities

Tests individual components of batteries.
Performs weekly quality control tests and documents results.
Evaluates battery failures and performs basic repairs.
Constructs test samples and executes specialized battery tests including life cycle, explosion, short circuit, float and capacity tests.
Inscribes, approves, and maintains documentation within the quality management system.
Maintains proper hygiene, housekeeping, and safety practices.
Ensures consistent production of high-quality products.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
