Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a leader for the Battery Build and Test Lab to drive rapid testing and validation of battery components and systems. You will lead a high-performing team, oversee commissioning of the EVDC2 lab, and shape strategies for safe, scalable HV battery testing.

The role requires 8+ years in battery testing and 3+ years in leadership, with experience in large-scale facilities, capital equipment, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of battery testing, validation, or complex lab operations.
• 3+ years in an engineering leadership or management role.
• Proven track record commissioning/upgrading large-scale testing facilities.
• Deep knowledge of battery chemistry, HV safety standards, and regulations.
• Experience managing capital equipment procurement and lab budgets.
• Strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and Develop: manage, mentor, and grow a team of battery validation engineers and lab technicians.
• Lab Commissioning: spearhead the operational ramp-up of the EVDC2 battery lab and oversee upgrades.
• Lab Operations & Strategy: manage the lab’s budget, resources, and capital equipment procurement.
• Validation Oversight: plan and execute battery pack validation test plans across performance and durability.
• Safety Leadership: enforce rigorous HV and battery abuse safety protocols.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: partner with senior leadership to align lab capabilities with programs.
• Data & Infrastructure Strategy: roadmap data storage, visualization, and automated test systems.
• Vendor Management: manage external vendors and test labs.
