Job summary

Gotion Inc. is seeking an Equipment Engineer to lead installation, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced manufacturing equipment for battery production.

You will work in a bilingual English/Chinese environment with vendors, production teams, and technical experts to drive efficiency and continuous improvement on high-tech lines. The role requires hands-on problem solving, strong automation knowledge, and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience with automated production equipment.
• Experience with installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial machinery.
• Proficiency with PLC, HMI, sensors, servo systems, and industrial automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, commissioning, and validation of equipment used in electrode manufacturing, coating, calendaring, stacking/winding, electrolyte injection, sealing, formation, and packaging.
• Ensure all equipment meets process specifications, operational requirements, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during installation.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize production efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Provide on-site and remote support for emergency repairs in cross-functional teams.
• Drive automation advancements and upgrades to increase throughput and reduce costs.
• Analyze equipment performance data and optimize system settings to improve yield and stability.
• Identify and implement best practices in predictive maintenance and process control.
