Job summary

Shugarman’s Bath in Orange County is seeking motivated, hands-on construction professionals to start as an Assistant and grow into an Installer with a high earning potential. You’ll learn the system, sharpen your skills, and advance through an Apprentice program to reach an Installer role.

Top Installers earn $200K+ per year, with the starting wage at $18–$22/hour. Expect a 4-day workweek, paid weekly, and ongoing training. This is a long-term career path in bathroom remodeling.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in construction and related trades.
• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, framing, or handyman work is a plus.
• Capable, dependable, and eager to learn with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job-site prep, material handling and setup.
• Demolition of existing wet area when required.
• Haul debris and ensure proper disposal.
• Assist with wet area remodels: build walls, install pans/tubs, install panels.
• Perform basic carpentry and plumbing tasks under guidance.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE on site.
• Support installers and learn the trade through hands-on training.

Your Career Path

Assistant → Apprentice → Installer → $200K+

Our goal is to help qualified team members move into our Apprentice Program in as little as 3–6 months, with the opportunity to advance to Installer as you master the trade and prove you can perform quality work independently.

Top Installers earn $200,000+ per year. Your starting wage is just the beginning.

What You'll Do

You’ll work alongside experienced installers remodeling showers, tubs, and walk-in tubs. Your day may include:

• Job site preparation, including supply runs, preparing tools and materials, and setting up dust control and floor protection.
• Demolition of existing wet area.
• Haul debris and ensure proper disposal.
• Execute wet area remodel, including, but not limited to building walls, set shower pans/tubs, install glass, cut panels and install them to walls, etc).
• Perform carpentry work, including framing and other relevant tasks.
• Perform plumbing work, ensuring functionality and compliance with plumbing codes.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure work environment.
• Ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• You might be assigned to other duties as needed.

You should have a solid foundation in construction and be comfortable with several of the following:

Carpentry, Plumbing, Framing, Light Electrical, Handyman Skills, Drywall, Soldering, P-Traps, Power Tools

You don't need to know everything. You need to be capable, dependable, mechanically inclined, and hungry to learn.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Clean driving record
• Valid auto insurance
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to drive your own vehicle to job sites
• Ability to safely use construction tools
• Able to lift 10–80 lbs regularly and perform physically demanding work
• Your own tools are a plus, but not required to start
• To advance to Installer, you'll need a full-size truck or van and your own professional tools.
• Pass the required pre-employment screening, including background, drug, and driving‑record checks.
• Complete a Paid Skills Assessment – designed to give us a better understanding of your skills and experience level.
