Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Bather/Student Groomer (Groom Tech) at Pet Supplies Plus, you are passionate about pets and people. Your role includes:

1. Encouraging pets to participate in grooming activities and celebrating their progress.
2. Attending our paid, comprehensive training through the renowned Paragon School of Pet Grooming, if aspiring to become a Groomer.
3. Getting familiar with grooming tools and equipment.
4. Learning to bathe and style dogs according to breed standards.
5. Receiving a free toolkit worth over $600 upon hiring and enrollment in the Paragon program, if pursuing a grooming career.

All while engaging with customers and maintaining a cheerful attitude. Are you a superhero with a flea comb and slicker brush? You’re PAWsome!

Key Responsibilities of Groom Tech

1. Providing grooming services like brushing, bathing, and nail trimming to pets and delighting their owners.
2. Learning and demonstrating grooming skills through the online program.
3. Ensuring the safety and wellness of pets.
4. Building long-term relationships with customers by understanding their needs and recommending suitable products and services.
5. Maintaining a clean and inviting grooming environment.
6. Completing safety training certification.
7. Assisting team members during grooming downtimes.

Ideal Candidate

1. Experience working with pets in retail or other settings is a plus but not required.
2. High School Diploma or GED.
3. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
4. Ability to review online videos and complete tests.
5. Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
6. Must pass drug screening and validation tests; minimum age 18.
