Job summary

Proper Beverage Company in Hudsonville, MI is seeking a dedicated Batching Technician to join our production team. You will ensure accurate and efficient mixing of ingredients to meet daily production targets within a fast-paced environment.

This full-time, first-shift role runs Monday through Friday 5:30am–2:00pm. You will follow batch recipes, monitor equipment, and collaborate with supervision, QA, and R&D to sustain quality, safety, and continuous improvement across our beverage operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in batching and mixing for food production.
• Knowledge of batching equipment and processes.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations (HACCP, SQF).
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow the batching process, including accurate measurement and mixing of ingredients according to recipe specifications and production schedules.
• Coordinate with the Batching Supervisor to ensure timely availability of ingredients and materials for batching operations.
• Monitor batching equipment and systems, troubleshooting issues and coordinating with maintenance staff for repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Strictly adhere to safety protocols, sanitation standards, and GMP to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
• Maintain accurate records of batch production, ingredient usage, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with quality control and R&D teams to evaluate product quality and assist in development of new formulations and recipes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize batching processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• All other duties as assigned

Job Description

As Batching Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient mixing of ingredients to meet production requirements. You will be part of a team of batching technicians working to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and productivity are maintained.

This is a full-time, 1st shift position. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 5:30am to 2:00pm.

Responsibilities

Batching Duties

• Follow the batching process, including the accurate measurement and mixing of ingredients according to recipe specifications and production schedules.
• Coordinate with the Batching Supervisor to ensure timely availability of ingredients and materials for batching operations.
• Monitor batching equipment and systems, troubleshooting any issues and coordinating with maintenance staff for repairs and preventive maintenance.

Safety & Compliance

• Strictly adhere to safety protocols, sanitation standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of batching operations to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of batch production, ingredient usage, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with quality control and R&D teams to evaluate product quality and assist in the development of new formulations and recipes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize batching processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Experience in batching, mixing, industrial cooking, or similar, preferred.
• Strong knowledge of batching equipment, systems, and processes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Solid understanding of food safety regulations and quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, SQF).
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize tasks to meet production deadlines.
