Primal Pet Foods in Abilene, TX is seeking a Batching Operator to precisely measure, weigh, and blend ingredients for high-quality pet food batches. You will work with production, QA, and maintenance teams to ensure safety, accuracy, and on-target production across shifts.

The role requires attention to detail, GMP/HACCP awareness, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Compensation starts at $18/hour with overtime opportunities and a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in food, feed, or pet food manufacturing is considered an asset.
• Basic math and computer skills, with the ability to accurately operate scales and batching systems.
• Working knowledge of food safety, quality control, and sanitation standards (e.g., GMP, HACCP).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform work in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime, based on production needs.

Responsibilities

• Accurately measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients in accordance with batch formulas and production schedules.
• Operate batching and mixing equipment safely, efficiently, and in compliance with standard operating procedures.
• Verify that all raw materials are available, properly labeled, and meet quality standards prior to use.
• Maintain accurate records of batch details, ingredient usage, and production data.
• Ensure the batching area remains clean and organized, adhering to GMP and food safety regulations.
• Monitor and adjust mixing parameters to meet quality specifications.
• Follow safety protocols including PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cross-training.
