Job summary

Trs Staffing Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Batch Poly Operator for our Spartanburg, SC client. You will safely operate and monitor batch polymerization reactors, blending systems, and related equipment to produce polyester resins and polymer formulas.

This direct hire role features a 12-hour rotating swing shift (4 on, 4 off), with starting pay of $24.30 per hour plus comprehensive benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing/chemical processing experience.
• Ability to read control screens and perform basic math for recipes.
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work on 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control batch reactors, esterifiers, and cooling systems to follow exact recipes.
• Operate Delta-V or Provox interfaces to adjust set-points and track performance.
• Move materials safely using forklifts and transfer pumps.
• Collect polymer samples and perform viscosity and weight checks.
• Follow LOTO and hot work procedures and keep the area clean.

Position Overview

Our Client is seeking a safety-minded, detail-oriented Batch Poly Operator to join our production team in Spartanburg, SC. In this role, you will safely operate and monitor batch polymerization reactors, blending systems, and chemical processing equipment to manufacture specialized polyester resins and polymer formulas.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)

• Monitor & Control Process Reactions: Oversee temperatures, pressures, and chemical feeds on batch reactors, esterifiers, and auxiliary vacuum/cooling systems to ensure exact recipe baselines.
• Operate Control Systems: Use advanced, automated computer control interfaces (such as Delta-V or Provox systems) to adjust system set-points, execute recipes, and track performance trends.
• Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts, hoists, can-lifters, and transfer pumps to move raw materials and chemical ingredients across the plant floor.
• Quality & Maintenance: Pull polymer samples for lab testing, perform basic viscosity and weight checks, and conduct routine equipment cleanouts or filter changeovers.
• Safety First: Maintain rigorous compliance with Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, hot work permits, and facility housekeeping standards.

What We Are Looking For (Qualifications)

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience (experience in chemical processing, plastics, or heavy industrial environments is strongly preferred).
• Technical Skills: Ability to read digital control screens, input data accurately, and perform basic math for recipe measurements.
• Physical Ability: Comfortable lifting up to 60 lbs, climbing industrial ladders/stairs, and working on your feet near high-heat machinery.
• Availability: Must be fully available to work a 12-hour rotating swing shift (alternating between day and night cycles, including weekends and holidays) on a 4-on, 4-off rotation schedule.
