Job summary

Job description

Job Purpose

Seeking a dedicated individual with the desire to learn and build a career while exceeding the highest quality of safety standards. This position will control production and load out of material produced in a ready-mix concrete plant. Individual will operate the process according to customer specifications and delivery schedules while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company policies.

Job Duties
  • Accurately batch concrete using computerized batch system.
  • Input mix designs, adjust moisture content, and add admixtures as required.
  • Monitor aggregate and cement weights, water/cement ratios, and slump/admixture dosages.
  • Maintain time and material records.
  • Schedule and ensure timely delivery of oil, fuel, aggregates, admixtures, and supplies to the plant.
  • Start up and/or shut down the plant daily.
  • Responsible for efficient working condition of plant equipment.
  • Perform routine service and maintenance.
  • Responsible for daily plant inspections, repair, and maintenance.
  • Assist plant management with on-site leadership and coordination for employees, drivers, and customers.
  • Assist in the performance of scheduled safety meetings.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of related experience (construction background desired): or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Previous experience in operating various types of heavy mobile equipment is preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical repairs, accurate math skills and communications skills are required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the desire to seek solutions.
  • Ability to maintain composure in all situations.
  • Must be a strong team player and gain the trust and support of peers.
