Job summary

Pearson Construction, LLC is looking for an asphalt plant laborer in Wichita, Kansas, to assist with daily operations, maintenance, and production monitoring. The role requires a strong work ethic and adherence to safety protocols.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, be mechanically inclined, and able to perform physically demanding tasks. We offer a full benefits package, including health insurance and a 401(k) plan with company match.

Qualifications

Position Summary

We are seekinganasphalt plant laborerto join our team.This positionassists with the daily operations of the asphalt plant.This includes the maintenance of equipment, the handling of raw materials, and the monitoring of production processes to ensure the efficient and safe production of asphalt.Theplant laborerworks collaboratively with the team to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.Some travel might berequiredfor this position.

Essential Functions

• Assistwith the setup, operation, and clean-up of the asphalt plant.
• Monitor plant operations to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of plant equipment and surrounding areas.
• Load and unload materials such as sand, gravel, and asphalt into or from trucks and hoppers.
• Perform basic mechanical repairs and report any major maintenance needs.
• Assistplant operators and other crew members as needed.
• Record material usage andassistwith inventory control.
• Operate machinery or tools whenproperly trainedand certified.
• Be aware ofthe otherequipment and personnel working in the area.
• Report toassignedjobarea in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in policies and procedures manual, and OSHAand MSHAguidelines.
• Possess a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
• Desire to learn and commitment to working safely.
• Flexibility toworkvarious schedules and stay late whennecessarywith little or no notice.
• Mustbe willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
• Mechanically inclined preferred. Position assists with plant repairs, breakdowns, etc.
• Possess ability to follow instructions with strong oral and written skills.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers and supervisors.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures at all times.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
