Job summary

Morehouse Parish Schools seeks a high school Assistant Principal at Bastrop High School to oversee secondary programs, support teaching staff, and implement district initiatives. You will report to the Principal and supervise varied school personnel within a 10-month contract.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience in schools, knowledge of Title I contexts, and a commitment to equitable student outcomes in BASHPROFIC communities.

Qualifications

• At least three years of leadership experience in a school or district.
• Experience in supporting and developing staff/teachers.
• Ability to articulate and demonstrate effective teaching strategies and practices.
• Skilled in working with diverse individuals and groups.
• Title I experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer programs adhering to guidelines and standards for secondary programs.
• Supervise professionals, paraprofessionals, and non-professionals as assigned by the principal.
• Report to the Principal and collaborate with school leadership.

JOB VACANCY: High School Assistant Principal
LOCATION: Bastrop High School

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:10 months; Teacher Salary Schedule plus Assistant Principal’s Index (.17)

DATES TO APPLY: June 16, 2025through July 2,2025 at 4:00 p.m.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• At least three years of successful school or districtleadership experience
• Experience in staff/ teacher support & development
• Possess the aptitude to articulate and demonstrate effective teaching strategies & practices
• Skilled in working with diverse individuals/groups
• Has had experience and success working in a Title I School (preferred)

Applicant shall possess the certification required by the applicable rules and regulations of the LouisianaDepartment of Education, and/or the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.

SUPERVISES: Professionals, Paraprofessionals, and non-professionals as assigned by the principal.
