  • Coordinate and oversee student discipline processes while ensuring consistency, fairness, and due process.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student discipline, attendance, and intervention records.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to address classroom management concerns and student behavioral needs.
  • Support implementation of PBIS and student engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with attendance improvement strategies.
  • Confer with students, parents, counselors, and staff regarding academic, attendance, and behavioral concerns.
  • Facilitate restorative practices, conflict resolution, and intervention plans.
  • Coordinate referrals to district personnel and community agencies.
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Assist with supervision during extracurricular activities and school events.
  • Support school improvement initiatives and maintain communication with the Principal.

JOB VACANCY: Dean of Students

LOCATION: Bastrop High School

The Morehouse Parish School District is seeking a highly motivated, student-centered educational leader to serve as Dean of Students at Bastrop High School. The Dean of Students will work collaboratively with school administration, faculty, students, families, and community stakeholders to promote a safe, positive, and academically focused learning environment.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

Contract Term: 9-months

Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule

Reports To: Principal

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid Louisiana certification as defined by BESE/Louisiana Department of Education
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of successful teaching experience
  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
  • Strong knowledge of discipline practices, attendance laws, and behavior interventions
  • Excellent communication and conflict – resolution skills
PREFERRED
  • Master degree in Education , Educational Leadership, Counseling, or related field
  • Educational Leadership certification or eligibility
  • Experience in secondary administration, counseling, or student services
  • Experience with PBIS, restorative practices, or MTSS
