Job summary

Berkner Band Learning Community in Richardson, TX is seeking a dedicated bassoon private instructor to work with students from 6th through 12th grade for the 26-27 school year. The role may involve teaching 6+ students across Berkner High School, Liberty JH, and Apollo JH bands.

Ideal candidates will be an excellent musician with strong communication, calendar management, and willingness to collaborate on pedagogical practices for a complete spectrum of students.

Qualifications

• Excellent musician with bassoon proficiency and pedagogy awareness.
• Strong communication with parents, students, and staff.
• Ability to manage a busy calendar and keep a weekly schedule.
• Willingness to collaborate on pedagogical practices for all students.
• Familiarity with a wide range of solo literature for bassoon.
• Understanding of TMEA All-Region and All-State processes.
• Interest in fostering a positive section culture within the studio.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent ensemble teaching background.

Responsibilities

• Teach bassoon to multiple students across 6th–12th grade.
• Coordinate with Berkner HS, Liberty JH and Apollo JH bands for scheduling.
• Collaborate with staff to establish consistent pedagogical practices.
