Job summary

Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park, MD, is seeking a Bass-Baritone /Section Leader to lead the vocal ensemble and enhance worship with expressive singing. This part-time, non-exempt role involves coordinating bass and baritone sections during rehearsals and services, and collaborating with the Director of Music.

Hours are about 4 per week on a rotating schedule (Thursday 7-9 pm, Sunday 8:30-10:30 am).

Qualifications

• Trained soloist able to sing in classical and contemporary styles.
• Excellent sight-reading skills.
• Ability to mentor and guide volunteer singers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bass and baritone sections during rehearsals and live performances, ensuring vocal cohesion and musical integrity.
• Serve as section Sunday Mornings for 2 hours.
• Attend choir rehearsals Thursday evenings for 2 hours.
• Opportunity to perform solo (extra compensation)
• Must be available for special celebrations, including but limiting to Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter (extra compensation)
• Mentor and guide volunteer singers as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Director of Music – David Merrill

SCHEDULE: Approx. 4 hours a week (Thursday's 7:00 - 9:00, Sunday's 8:30 - 10:30) on a rotating schedule.

PAY RANGE: $25.00/hour - Based on experience, education and qualifications.
