Job summary

Christ Church Vernon Hills is seeking a part-time Worship Leader to prepare, plan, and lead the musical portion of worship up to 15 hours per week. You will recruit and develop a team of volunteers, select music with the campus pastor, and arrange all details for a dynamic worship experience.

The role includes coordinating with sound and tech volunteers, using Planning Center Services, and contributing to budget planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or experience in leading worship services and church leadership
• Love of God and devotion to following Christ and becoming more like him
• Prior musical experience
• Experience leading congregations in worship
• Ability to lead from public platforms
• Ability to lead a team of musicians and technical artists musically and spiritually
• General computer skills (word processing, email, spreadsheet software)
• Competency with Planning Center Services
• Models a growing Christian character at work, home, and social life
• Agreement with Christ Church's Statement of Faith

Responsibilities

• Build a vision and a culture of worship at the Christ Church Vernon Hills campus
• Ensure a dynamic worship experience for the Sunday service
• Work with the campus pastor in planning the worship service, including all songs, transitions, prayers, etc.
• Recruit, develop, and equip all worship team volunteers and any paid musicians
• Recruit tech personnel to participate in weekly support role (sound tech and slides) as well as loading all Slides to Pro-presenter for announcements, lyrics and sermon scriptures/ slides
• Resource and prepare the worship team with all necessary music, songs, and other resources through the use of Planning Center Services
• Encourage all, and especially those on the worship team, to pursue growth in Christlikeness and Christian maturity.
• Participate in monthly campus lunches after service (all church lunch)
• Assist in the planning, execution, and leadership of additional special services or events across all campuses of Christ Church as needed.
• Assist in managing the worship budget

Education

POSITION SUMMARY: up to 15 hours per week | $21 - $32 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor towards co-workers, team members, and guests.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
