Job summary

French Creek YMCA in Avon, Ohio is seeking a program instructor to lead age-appropriate sports programs and branch activities. You will implement program plans, supervise gym activities, and model YMCA values in every lesson.

The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and child abuse prevention; you will maintain records, participate in trainings, and collaborate with staff to provide quality, safe, and healthy programs for the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
• Bloodborne Pathogen standards training.

Responsibilities

• Plan activities in advance with proper materials and attire.
• Incorporate YMCA values into each lesson.
• Maintain class/participant attendance and skill records.
• Keep gym area clean and hazards eliminated.
• Plan culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Adhere to safety and cleanliness standards.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Ensure classes meet YMCA standards and guidelines.
• Follow policies on medical, disciplinary situations and child abuse prevention.
• Maintain positive relations with patrons and staff.
