Job summary

i9 Sports - Puget Sound, WA is seeking a Basketball Instructor/Official for the Fall season at Pacific Cascade Middle School. You will enforce rules, coach players, and promote a positive atmosphere during Sunday games and practices from 11/1 to 12/13.

This role emphasizes safety, sportsmanship, and engaging with families, players, and coaches. Candidates must commit to the full season and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills across email, text, and verbal formats.
• Experience officiating, playing, or coaching sports.
• Ability to maintain composure and model sportsmanship during games.
• Strong work ethic and reliable, punctual performance.

Responsibilities

• Study and enforce i9 Sports rules and safety for all players; stripes and whistle provided by employee.
• Instruct players during practice using age-appropriate practice plans developed by i9 Sports.
• Keep time and score during the game; manage an age-appropriate level of instruction and competition.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service during events.

Job Summary

The Basketball Instructor/Official is a critical role on any field; responsible for enforcing rules while also cultivating a positive culture, acting as an on-field coach, and advocating for the programs. This role has a direct impact on players, coaches, and spectators each and every game day. We are currently hiring for our Fall season at the following venue:

• Pacific Cascade Middle School (Sunday mornings & early afternoons): 11/1 to 12/13, except Thanksgiving Day weekend

Responsibilities

• Study and enforce i9 Sports rules and safety for all players. Stripes and whistle provided by employee.
• Instruct players during practice using age-appropriate practice plans developed by i9 Sports.
• Keep time and score during the game; manage an age-appropriate level of instruction and competition.
• Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and superior customer service skills

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (Email, text, verbal, written). Responsiveness is critical.
• Sports officiating, playing or coaching experience is a must.
• Enthusiasm, strong work ethic and trustworthiness.
• Situational awareness, attention to detail and critical thinking.
• Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as a team.
• Commit to working for the full duration of the 6-week season.
• Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check.
• Must have reliable transportation and be dependable. We do not tolerate callouts.
