Job summary

The New Orleans Pelicans are seeking a Software Engineer to own the basketball data platform, internal web apps, and automated reporting for coaching, scouting, analytics, and health/performance. You will build data pipelines, contribute to the API layer, and deploy across cloud environments, collaborating with a small team in a dynamic sports setting.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in software development, ETL/ELT expertise, and strong SQL/web tech skills, with a passion for data-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in software development with Python/Java/C#.
• 3+ years building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• SQL and relational DB design, optimization, views, stored procedures.
• Frontend web dev with HTML/JS/CSS and modern framework (React, Angular, Vue).
• REST APIs with auth and RBAC; cloud deployment + CI/CD.
• Experience with Airflow or similar tooling; Git proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own daily data platforms: pipelines ingesting league feeds and third-party data.
• Build and manage workflow orchestration (Airflow/Dagster/Prefect).
• Maintain analytics infrastructure, DB optimization, automation of reports.
• Develop internal web apps for basketball operations.
• Create API layer between warehouse and front-end apps.
• Manage deployment, CI/CD, environments, monitoring, secrets.
• Support analytics work with data prep and ad-hoc requests.
• Translate stakeholder workflows into usable tools.
