Job summary

The New Orleans Pelicans’ Pelicans Basketball Operations team is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain the basketball data platform, internal web apps, and automated reporting infrastructure. You will support Coaching, Player Personnel/Scouting, Analytics, Player Development, and Health & Performance with scalable data solutions and APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of software development experience using Python, Java, or C#.
• Minimum of 3 years building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs with authentication and RBAC.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect).
• Experience deploying applications on cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) with CI/CD.
• Experience with Git.
• Willing to provide after-hours and weekend support.
• Ability to problem solve and work independently or in small teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate the daily basketball data platforms and pipelines.
• Build and manage the workflow orchestration layer (Airflow).
• Maintain and extend data and analytics infrastructure.
• Design, build, and maintain internal web applications.
• Build and maintain API layer between warehouse and front-end.
• Own deployment and infrastructure across cloud services, including CI/CD.
• Support basketball analysis with datasets and ad-hoc data requests.
• Collaborate with analytics staff and stakeholders to translate workflows into tools.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code with code reviews.
• Other duties as assigned.
