Job summary

The Dallas Mavericks are seeking a Basketball Communications Seasonal Assistant to support our Basketball Communications team for the 2026-27 season. This role supports an active PR department with daily operations including game notes, postgame notes, credentialing, press releases and more.

The internship runs October 2026 through two weeks after the season ends, with a full-time schedule for home games, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Reports to Sr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field.
• Experience working for a professional sports team, college athletics program, or similar PR setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead department efforts to prepare for home games, including credentials and media seating.
• Help manage the single-game credentialing process for media and guests.
• Update player and staff bios on HoopsOMG.com.
• Contribute to game notes and postgame notes with statistics and milestones.
• Monitor and track team-related media coverage and requests.
• Organize and maintain the department’s shared folders.
• Contribute to press releases regarding trades and roster moves.
• Assist in planning player press conferences and media availabilities.
• Maintain the department’s X account with practice schedule.
