Crossroads YMCA is seeking officiants to oversee adult and youth sports programs at multiple branches. The role requires officiating games, enforcing rules, and ensuring player safety, with training provided. You will collaborate with the Sports Director and participate in YMCA activities and events.

The position demands flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and a commitment to teamwork and community impact through sports.

Qualifications

• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid.
• New Employee Orientation and online trainings required prior to start.
• Minimum age 18 preferred.
• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.

Responsibilities

• Officiate adult and youth sports games (basketball, soccer, volleyball, t-ball, dodgeball, football, softball).
• Stop play when necessary and explain violations fairly and consistently.
• Report injuries to Program Director following safety procedures.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, at various Crossroads YMCA branches.
• Collaborate with Sports Director/Sports Coordinator and assist in fundraising activities and events.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; work as a team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Apply Now!POSITION SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Sports Director/Sports Coordinator, the sports staff will be responsible for officiating adult/youth sports programs. Including but not limited to; Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, T-ball, Dodgeball, Football, and Softball.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Stop play when necessary and explain violations consistently and fairly.Know, demonstrate, and interpret the YMCA philosophy to players and spectators.Report injuries to Program Director, following safety procedures and guidelines.Must demonstrate the ability to work with varying ages and to manage large groups.Must demonstrate the ability to control all aspects of the game that you are officiating.Attends and participates in other YMCA program activities, staff meetings, and staff trainings required.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.Ability to work at various branches, within the Crossroads YMCA organization.Work closely with the Sports Director/Sports Coordinator to address any concerns.Assist the Sports Director/Sports Coordinator when needed.Assist in YMCA fundraising activities and special events as designated by the Branch Executive Director.Work as a teamPerforms other duties as assignedYMCA COMPETENCIES (Leader):Mission Advancement: Accepts and demonstrates the Ys values.
