Job description

Position Overview: The graduate assistant coach will be involved with the day-to-day administration of a Division II baseball program and must attend all sport-related activities as required. The graduate assistant coach must be enrolled in an approved graduate program at Concordia University, St. Paul, and must be making satisfactory progress toward that degree. The coach will support the mission and values of CSP and serve as a mentor and role model to student athletes.

Essential Duties:

1. Program administration: Attend and participate in staff meetings (compliance, practice planning, academic, strength & conditioning, individual sessions), assist with travel arrangements, manage players’ equipment needs, and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
2. Technical instruction: Attend all practices and competitions, film drills and sessions, maintain statistics, and prepare/edit film and scouting reports.
3. Fundraising: Organize and participate in fundraising activities as assigned.
4. Recruiting: Manage recruiting database, communicate with prospective student-athletes, meet with recruits and families, evaluate talent, and manage social media presence.
5. Compliance: Abide by NCAA, NSIC, and CSP rules, and pass the NCAA recruiting exam annually.
6. Additional duties: Perform other sport-specific duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Admitted into CSP Graduate program for Master’s Degree.
• American Red Cross CPR Certification.

Additional Demands: Long hours standing, minor lifting, travel mostly by bus, exposure to adverse weather, night and weekend hours.
