The role emphasizes predictive modeling, data pipelines, and trustworthy analytics, turning research into decisions that improve on-field outcomes and communicating findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
• 1+ years of professional data science experience.
• Proficiency with R or Python.
• Experience with statistical analyses and large datasets.
• Experience building or maintaining data pipelines.
• Strong interest in baseball and analytics.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean, organize, and validate data from source databases.
• Build and maintain quantitative models using R or Python.
• Write clean, well-documented code and annotate methods and results.
• Design tests to ensure model accuracy and reliability.
• Automate data pipelines and deliver usable tools for end users.
• Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with end users to gather feedback and inform product development.
• Evaluate, recommend, and integrate new data sources.
• Use modern AI tools to increase productivity while maintaining analytical judgment.
