Job summary

Air Force Special Operations Command at Cannon AFB is seeking a cook for the Child Development Center. You will prepare meals that meet CACFP and Air Force requirements using USDA recipes and menus, and perform related kitchen duties.

You will assist the CDC Director with food purchasing from the Commissary and vendors, keep daily reports, and ensure timely service to each activity room. The role requires maintaining sanitary kitchen conditions and attending required trainings.

Qualifications

• Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience to qualify.
• This position does not allow for education substitution.
• FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals to meet CACFP and Air Force requirements.
• Uses a full range of quantity cooking procedures from USDA recipes and menus; prepares meats, vegetables, fruits, casseroles, and baked goods.
• Assists in purchasing food at the Commissary and prime vendors; submits daily food reports to the CDC Director.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen per Military Public Standards.
