Job summary

Camelback Resort in Tannersville is hiring a Base Area Attendant to ensure the cleanliness and safety of public areas while assisting guests. Responsibilities include monitoring cleanliness, emptying trash, and performing snow removal.

Base Area Attendant

Job Title: Base Area Attendant
Department: Mountain Operations
Reports to: Base Area Experience Supervisor

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor public areas for cleanliness, safety hazards, and maintenance concerns, reporting issues as needed.
  • Empty trash and recycling containers across mountain facilities, lodges, and outdoor public areas.
  • Remove snow and ice and power wash walkways, stairways, entrances, and other guest pathways.
  • Apply salt or de‑icing materials to walkways to maintain safe walking conditions.
  • Clean and restock public restrooms throughout the ski mountain, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Respond promptly to guest questions and provide basic directions or assistance when approached.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of equipment, tools, and personal protective gear.
  • Support overall mountain operations by completing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • A clean driving record is required.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varied Winter and Summer weather conditions, including cold, snow, ice, wind, rain, heat, and humidity.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, holidays, early mornings, and overnight shifts, as business needs require.
  • Ability to stand and walk outdoors for extended periods, including uneven terrain.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable performing physically demanding work for the duration of a shift.
  • Strong attention to detail with a sense of urgency and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work efficiently and safely in a fast‑paced, guest‑facing environment.
  • Must be able to speak and read English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to busy or noisy work areas.
  • Equipment operation experience preferred but not required (e.g., snowblowers, skid steers).
