The role involves collaboration with multiple departments, tax return interviews, and proactive project management. Hybrid/remote options and ongoing CPA guidance are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounting or tax preparation preferred.
• Active CPA licensure preferred.
• Minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education is required each year.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with engagement leaders and clients regarding open items in a timely manner.
• Performs tax return interviews with clients as needed.
• Provides technical assistance to clients in all areas of accounting.
• Leads client QuickBooks Training.
• Prepares required tax returns in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders.
• Creates, reconciles and ties out trial balances.
• Reviews basic accounting trial balance.
• Trains and mentors staff on simple accounting and tax returns.
• Proactively manages project timelines and budgets.

BAS Senior Accountant I Summary

A Business Advisory Services (BAS) Senior Accountant I organizes and coordinates clients’ tax data for the accurate, timely completion of individual tax returns and simple to moderately complex corporate, partnership, and S-Corp tax returns. This position also involves QuickBooks consulting and training, outsourced accounting, and requires frequent collaboration with other departments.
