Job summary

Software Placement Group seeks an experienced Automation/Controls Technician/Installer in Rocky Hill, CT to support BAS installations. You will mount control components, install low voltage wiring, perform terminations, and conduct system start-ups and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate holds a CT E2 or L6 license with 3+ years’ BAS experience and can read wiring diagrams, coordinate with project teams, and ensure code‑compliant work.

Qualifications

• CT E2 or L6 license is required.
• 3+ years of BAS installation and maintenance experience.
• Experience with low voltage wiring, system start‑ups and troubleshooting is essential.
• Proficient at reading wiring diagrams and system specifications.
• Strong knowledge of building automation, HVAC controls and electrical systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically capable of installation tasks and varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Mount and install control components, including sensors, thermostats, and controllers for BAS installations.
• Install conduit, low voltage wiring, and perform terminations per project specs.
• Conduct system start-ups, verify proper functioning and calibration.
• Test and troubleshoot systems to identify and resolve issues.
• Diagnose and repair BAS components, wiring, and controls.
• Respond to service calls for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians for timely installations.
• Communicate with clients and provide project status updates.
• Ensure installations comply with local electrical codes and safety protocols.
