Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Controls Service Technician in Madison Heights, MI to program, troubleshoot, install, and commission BAS/HVAC controls including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and VAVs. You will respond to service and warranty calls using JCI tools and electrical test equipment, and provide technical support for repairs and retrofits.

The role requires a vocational/associate degree or 5+ years in HVAC/electronic/mechanical service, BAS programming experience, strong HVAC

Qualifications

Vocational program or associate degree or 5+ years servicing HVAC/electronic/mechanical systems.
BAS programming experience - Siemens, Honeywell, Distech, Tridium, etc.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems and sequences.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and a multimeter.

Responsibilities

Program, troubleshoot, install, and commission BAS/HVAC controls (chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAVs).
Respond to service and warranty calls using JCI tools and standard electrical testing equipment.
Provide technical support, recommend repairs/upgrades, and assist with project scopes and retrofits.
Commission systems, perform diagnostics, calibrate devices, and update documentation.
Communicate with customers on system needs and provide efficient solutions and quotes.
Complete admin tasks (time sheets, expenses, service notes) and follow all safety standards.
Receive ongoing training to grow expertise with Metasys and BAS systems.
