Job summary

MH HVAC, LLC. in Orange, CA is seeking an experienced Controls Technician to join our BAS team. You will program, commission, and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems for commercial HVAC applications, with a focus on Niagara 4 and Niagara Workbench.

You will develop Niagara 4 applications, configure BACnet/IP and third-party integrations, and review drawings to implement control logic. 2–5 years of BAS experience and a Niagara 4 certification are preferred; starting pay is $50 per hour.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience programming Building Automation Systems.
• Current Niagara 4 certification strongly preferred; hands-on Niagara 4 programming may substitute.
• Proficiency with Niagara Workbench: station setup, drivers, point discovery, histories, alarms, schedules, graphics, backups.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems: AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers.
• Experience developing and modifying control sequences from written sequences of operation.
• Working knowledge of BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, and IP networking.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills; capable of independent startup and commissioning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, commission, and troubleshoot BAS for commercial HVAC applications.
• Develop and support Niagara 4 applications (JACE, Supervisor, graphics, trends, alarms, schedules).
• Configure and troubleshoot BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, and third-party integrations.
• Review drawings and sequences of operation to develop/modify control logic.
• Perform system startup, point-to-point verification, testing, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot programming, controller, communication, and system integration issues.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers through all project phases.
• Maintain programming documentation, backups, and project files.
