Darwin Recruitment seeks a BAS Controls Technician for an on-site role in Oklahoma City, focusing on commissioning and startup of BAS/BMS for a large data centre project. You will test controllers, sensors, and field devices, verify sequences of operation, and troubleshoot communications across BACnet/Modbus networks.

Hands-on work with established BAS platforms and close collaboration with engineers and MEP teams are required. On-site work with immediate start possible.

Qualificações

• Background as BAS, controls or commissioning technician with genuine commissioning experience.
• Experience with controller/field device testing and verification of I/O points and graphics.
• Solid understanding of HVAC controls and mechanical systems such as chillers and pumps.
• Ability to read control drawings and sequences of operation.
• Experience coordinating with engineers and MEP teams on punch-list items.
• Data centre or mission-critical environment experience is a strong advantage.

Project focus

Hands-on commissioning of building automation systems on a large-scale data centre build in Oklahoma City. You’ll be testing, starting up and troubleshooting the BAS/BMS controls that run the site’s HVAC and mechanical plant, taking systems through to final handover. Start is ASAP.

Key skills and Experience required

• Background as a BAS, controls or commissioning technician with genuine commissioning experience (not solely installation or service)
• Point-to-point testing of controllers, sensors, actuators and field devices
• Functional and sequence-of-operation testing, plus system startup
• Hands-on experience with at least one established BAS platform, e.g. Niagara/Tridium, Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens Desigo, Distech, Honeywell, Trend or Cylon
• Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus or similar protocols, and able to diagnose communication issues between controllers, field devices and supervisory systems
• Verifying I/O points, graphics, alarms and trends
• Solid understanding of HVAC controls and mechanical systems (chillers, AHUs, pumps, cooling)
• Able to read control drawings, wiring diagrams and sequences of operation
• Logging and closing out commissioning issues and punch-list items alongside engineers and MEP teams
• Data centre or mission-critical experience is a strong advantage
