Job summary

The University of Florida is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor on Main Campus (Gainesville, FL) to lead the Controls shop and maintain BAS systems across facilities. You will plan staffing, assign tasks, and oversee work quality, using BAS knowledge to improve energy efficiency and system performance.

Key responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating preventive maintenance, and driving improvements in building automation. Monday–Friday, 6:45–3:45, with on‑call as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in a recognized trade with five years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent with five years of relevant experience.
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and energy management controls.
• Knowledge of BAS protocols; modify control sequences and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and coordinate the controls shop staff.
• Maintain the BAS systems in the buildings.
• Prepare work schedules, assign work, and oversee staff performance.
• Review time cards and personnel records; monitor staff productivity.
• Assist with energy management and equipment scheduling for energy savings.
