LINK Staffing is conducting a confidential search for an experienced BAS Controls Project Manager to join an established commercial building systems organization in Houston.
This position will manage Building Automation System projects from planning and estimating through installation, commissioning and closeout. The Project Manager will be responsible for project schedules, labor planning, materials, financial performance, customer communication and coordination between field technicians, subcontractors and internal teams.
This is not a general construction Project Manager position. Direct experience with Building Automation Systems, DDC controls or commercial HVAC controls is required.
This is a direct-hire opportunity. The selected candidate will become a permanent employee of the hiring company.
What You'll Own
- Manage commercial BAS projects from initial planning through completion
- Develop project schedules, budgets, labor plans and material requirements
- Coordinate field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, customers and internal departments
- Prepare or review estimates for BAS construction projects and change-order work
- Track project costs, labor usage, materials and financial performance
- Identify technical, financial and scheduling risks before they affect project outcomes
- Lead project meetings and communicate progress clearly
- Review project drawings, specifications, control sequences and scope requirements
- Ensure equipment, materials and field resources are available when required
- Manage multiple projects and customer relationships simultaneously
- Support system commissioning, troubleshooting and final project closeout
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Address field issues and coordinate corrective actionHelp ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule and within budget
- Support customer meetings and business-development activities when needed
What You Need
- At least five years of experience with Building Automation Systems, DDC controls or commercial HVAC controls
- Project management experience within the BAS or controls industry
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, labor and materials
- Experience estimating BAS construction work or managing change orders
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC and building control systems
- Working knowledge of electrical controls, control sequences and technical project documentation
- Ability to manage several active projects and customer relationships
- Strong leadership, organization and decision-making skills
- Excellent customer communication and relationship-management abilities
- Ability to identify and elevate project risks quickly
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project-management tools
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to Houston-area jobsites as required
