Job summary

Fidelity Building Services Group in Owings Mills, MD, seeks a BAS/Controls Technician & Programmer to design, commission, and optimize complex building automation systems. You will partner with designers and engineers to capture every detail of our control projects and ensure seamless operation.

You’ll bring 3–5 years in HVAC and DDC, deep BAS understanding, and programming know-how. Tridium certification and Distech experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in HVAC and DDC environments.
• Deep understanding of BAS control components and programming.
• Familiarity with Tridium and Distech is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare commissioning plans with designers and engineers.
• Inspect and verify pre-installation readiness of components.
• Test and troubleshoot control systems to ensure proper operation.
• Integrate control components with HVAC systems for peak performance.
• Document commissioning steps and train operators on system use.
• Develop and implement custom control strategies and software.

What we hope you bring to the table:

• Experience:3-5 years in an industry-related field, including HVAC Systems and DDC Systems
• Know-How:Deep understanding of BAS control components, control strategies, and programming.
• Software Proficiency:Tridium Certification and Distech experience would be a plus, but not a requirement.

• Plan & Prepare:Collaborate with designers and engineers to develop comprehensive commissioning plans that capture every detail and nuance of our sophisticated control systems.
• Inspect & Verify:Conduct rigorous pre-installation checks and inspections to ensure that every component is perfect before it’s put into place.
• Test & Troubleshoot:Perform in-depth functional testing to verify that every control system operates precisely as designed, identifying, and resolving any issues with finesse.
• Integrate & Optimize:Ensure seamless integration of control components with overall HVAC systems, optimizing performance and efficiency for peak operation.
• Document & Educate:Meticulously document every step of the commissioning process and provide hands‑on training to operators, ensuring they’re fully equipped to maintain top‑tier system performance.
• Program & Innovate:Craft custom control strategies and software programs that push the boundaries of what our systems can achieve.
• Troubleshoot & Resolve:Diagnose issues and implement effective solutions to ensure seamless system operation.
• Collaborate & Lead:Work alongside a dynamic team of engineers, technicians, and project managers to bring visionary projects to life.

Base Pay:$40.00 - $55.00 - Commensurate with experience. This range represents a general guideline; however, several factors are considered when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
