Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is assisting a client that is the largest independent commercial HVAC manufacturers’ rep in North America. We seek a maintenance technician for data center controls and automation systems to support BAS/BMS, EPMS, DCIM and critical cooling assets.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, verify sensors and control loops, and document readings and trends. Expect on-site duties in Austin, with on-call rotations and strict safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience with data center controls and automation systems is desirable.
  • Familiarity with BAS/BMS controllers and field panels.
  • Understanding of EPMS, power-monitoring interfaces and DCIM concepts.
  • Strong attention to sensor data, alarms, trends and sequence-of-operation logic.
  • Ability to follow MOPs, SOPs, EOPs and change-management processes.
  • Commitment to safety protocols including LOTO and PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on data center controls and automation systems.
  • Maintain BAS/BMS controllers and field panels.
  • Work with EPMS and power-monitoring interface points; support DCIM-related monitoring and integration.
  • Install and test control panels, relays, wiring, and communication modules.
  • Manage sensors: temperature, humidity, differential pressure, airflow, leak detection.
  • Interface with CRAC/CRAH, AHU/RTU, pumps and cooling equipment.
  • Monitor UPS, generators, ATS/STS, switchgear and RPP where applicable.
  • Verify alarms, trends, graphics, and sequence-of-operation logic; document findings.
  • Support startup, testing, turnover activities, and on-call/outage support per SLA.
  • Document work performed, readings, screenshots and system conditions accurately.
  • Adhere to safety rules and live-site restrictions.

Job description

My client is the largest independent commercial HVAC manufacturers’ rep in North America , with 20 locations in the US and Canada. You would become part of the best team in Commercial HVAC, Refrigeration, and of course, BMS and Industrial Controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on data center controls and automation systems, including but not limited to:
  • BAS/BMS controllers and field panels.
  • EPMS and power-monitoring interface points.
  • DCIM-adjacent monitoring and integration points.
  • Control panels, relays, terminal blocks, low-voltage wiring, and communication modules.
  • Temperature, humidity, differential pressure, static pressure, airflow, leak detection, and equipment status sensors.
  • CRAH/CRAC, AHU/RTU, fan wall, chilled water, pump, cooling tower, adiabatic, and liquid-cooling control interfaces.
  • UPS, generator, ATS/STS, switchgear, PDU, RPP, and electrical monitoring points where applicable.
  • Alarm points, trend logs, graphics, setpoints, schedules, and sequence-of-operation logic.
  • Execute work through the approved field management system using approved. MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and change-management processes.
  • Maintain awareness of redundancy, upstream/downstream impacts, stacked risk, and potential consequences of controls changes.
  • Support alarm response, degraded performance investigations, sensor failures, communication loss, control-loop instability, and emergency service calls per SLA.
  • Perform point-to-point verification, sensor validation, command/feedback checks, trend review, and controls readiness inspections.
  • Support startup, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and turnover activities as assigned.
  • Document work performed, readings, screenshots, trends, deficiencies, alarms, corrective actions, and system conditions accurately.
  • Follow strict safety protocols, including LOTO, PPE, low-voltage electrical safety, site access rules, tool control, and live-site restrictions.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance windows, on-call rotations, after-hours response, and outage-support activities.
  • Complete required company, data center, controls, OEM, and mission-critical training.
