Job summary
KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking a BAS/Controls Commissioning Engineer for Sterling, VA. This field‑focused role requires startup, testing, troubleshooting, validation and commissioning of BAS, PLC controls, HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial networks.
Strong experience with Allen‑Bradley controls, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View is essential. Expect 50%–80% travel to project sites; travel planning and communication with clients and contractors are critical.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen‑Bradley controls.
- Advanced knowledge of ControlLogix and CompactLogix.
- Proficiency with Studio 5000/RSLogix.
- Experience with BACnet, Modbus, EtherNet/IP and industrial networks.
- Ability to read electrical, mechanical/MEP, and controls drawings.
Responsibilities
- Perform BAS and PLC system startup and commissioning.
- Execute point‑to‑point checkout and I/O verification.
- Verify field device wiring, terminations, and operation.
- Calibrate sensors and associated control devices.
- Troubleshoot and modify Allen‑Bradley PLC programs.
- Lead or support FAT/SAT testing and site acceptance.
