Job Description

Saint Luke's is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join its team. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. BAS Monitoring & Diagnostics
  2. Continuously monitor BAS for offline points and controllers across the hospital network’s chiller plants, AHUs, and critical spaces.
  3. Identify and troubleshoot offline points and control system communication issues to ensure consistent system performance.
  4. Use analytics tools and system trend reports to identify the root causes of offline points or alarms.
  5. Monitor BAS for nuisance alarms and eliminate them to reduce alarm fatigue.
  1. Critical System Adjustments
  2. Make real-time system adjustments and tuning of chillers, AHUs, and critical environments such as operating rooms, pharmacies, and laboratories.
  3. Implement system-level corrections to maintain optimal temperatures, humidity levels, and airflows in compliance with healthcare requirements.
  4. Ensure that all critical areas operate within set parameters, addressing deviations promptly.
  1. Documentation & Reporting
  2. Thoroughly document all adjustments, overrides, and resolutions made within the BAS, ensuring proper record-keeping for audit trails and future reference.
  3. Generate detailed reports on offline points, system adjustments, and performance improvements, submitting them to the ROC Manager.
  4. Maintain up-to-date records of system configurations and control logic changes.
  1. Collaboration & Support
  2. Collaborate with the ROC team, including controls specialists, network engineers, and HVAC technicians, to ensure all systems are optimized and running efficiently.
  3. Coordinate with facility maintenance staff when on-site assistance is required to resolve complex issues.
  4. Provide feedback and suggestions to the ROC Manager and engineering team to continuously improve system performance and reduce offline occurrences.
  1. Preventive Maintenance & System Health
  2. Assist in preventive maintenance scheduling and perform routine checks to reduce offline points or controller failures.
  3. Proactively identify potential issues before they escalate by analyzing trends and system behavior.
  4. Work closely with network and controls teams to ensure controllers and sensors are properly calibrated and functioning.
  1. Compliance & Critical Environment Management
  2. Ensure all adjustments in critical environments meet healthcare regulations and protocols.
  3. Respond to emergencies involving critical systems, making immediate corrections to prevent downtime.
