Job summary

del Lago Resort & Casino in the Finger Lakes region seeks a Bartender to deliver gracious, warm Old-World hospitality while serving a full beverage menu and providing knowledgeable guest assistance.

This role requires compliance with sanitation codes, the ability to handle cash, and a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Prior bartending experience is preferred, with training provided to ensure superb service.

JOB SUMMARY

The Bartender is responsible to provide a level of service which is gracious, kind, and warm that provides an exciting environment and World Class Service by delivering Old-World Hospitality and Charm for the casino guests. The Bartender will maintain a high standard of cleanliness according to the food service sanitation codes. The position will serve alcoholic and non–alcoholic beverages, have extensive menu knowledge, take guest orders, anticipate the guests’ needs, deliver the orders and tender payment. Focus on departmental goals of - Consistency, Quality and Sense of Urgency.

Pay Range: $20.79 - $23.10/hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for being punctual to pre-shift meeting with a positive attitude and openly participate
  • Consistently provide an exciting environment and World Class Service by delivering Old-World Hospitality with Old-World Charm, as well as live the company core values
  • Comply with department standards, guidelines, and objectives to include adherence to all Food Service and Sanitation, OSHA, and Hazcom standards and guidelines
  • Provide consistent high-quality food and beverage service to all guests dining in the restaurants by adhering to sequence of service standards completely and correctly
  • Responsible to utilize "upselling" techniques
  • Adhere to all standardized recipes
  • Safeguard company assets and adheres to all policies and procedures
  • Maintain and be accountable for all funds entrusted to him/her on an assigned shift
  • Create teamwork by helping co-workers with essential function
  • Balance all money transactions and paperwork
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to include strict adherence to attendance and appearance guidelines, as well as confidentially regarding guest information
  • Be alert for fraud, forged/counterfeit currency and/or vouchers
  • Balance all funds under his/her responsibility and prepare reconciliation reports accordingly
  • Practice all alcohol awareness policies and procedures
  • Maintain a clear and organized work area, cleaning as you go and cleaning spills immediately
  • Responsible for the use of chemicals as prescribed and responsibly
  • Ensure all chemicals are in properly labeled containers
  • Assist the supervisor in putting supplies away adhering to the 5S Principles of ensuring that items are “Sorted”, “Set in Order”, “Systematically Cleaned”, “Standardize”, and “Sustained” and dating all items with the current date
  • Conduct him/her in a gracious, kind, and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as professional, courteous, and responsive manner, which reflects positively on the company and its core values
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino
  • Obtain required license(s)
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Responsible to take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco
  • Knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department
  • Knowledge of the property’s programs to address problem gambling
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with the state regulations and Systems of Internal Controls
  • Responsible to take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any staff member that they have knowledge of
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior bartending experience preferred. Attention to detail and accuracy. Maintain confidential information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

Must have ability to:

  • Accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs
  • Interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Be flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate
  • Ability to be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
