Job summary

Sodexo at the University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Bartender Tipped to provide exceptional service and craft drinks. The role involves fast, accurate beverage preparation and teamwork with wait staff to deliver prompt service.

Requires minimal prior experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and ability to meet age requirements for alcohol service. Flexible shifts are available with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to make a wide range of drink recipes and mix drinks correctly preferred.
• Must be at or over the minimum age to serve alcohol per local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests and serves alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks with garnishes.
• Ensure bar area is stocked with tools and products for beverage service.
• Prepare beginning counts and issue inventory requisitions to replenish supplies.
• Be friendly, tactful, and attentive with customers.
• Able to walk/stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Attend scheduled shifts on time; perform other duties as needed.

Pay Range: $2.13 - $21.54

What You'll Do:

As a Bartender Tipped at Sodexo, you will provide exceptional customer service, and mix and serve drinks to patrons, directly or through wait staff, quickly and without waste. Bartenders must work well with wait staff and other staff to ensure that customers receive prompt service. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Greets guests, mixes and serves alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks, and creates drink recipes with appropriate garnishes.
• Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests.
• Prepare accurate beginning counts and issue inventory or purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies.
• Bartenders should be friendly, tactful and attentive when working with customers.
• Significant walking or other means of mobility.
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform repetitive movements.
• Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
• Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
