Job summary

Schweitzer Mountain Resort is seeking a seasonal bartender to welcome guests and deliver fast, friendly service at our bar. You will prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintain a clean bar, and provide product knowledge to guests in a lively, team-oriented setting.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of bartending experience, strong cash handling skills, and the Idaho Alcohol Beverage Training Certificate is a plus. Must be able to stand long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years bartending experience with demonstrated competence; beer knowledge required and wine knowledge preferred with demonstrated competence.
• ID guests in accordance with Idaho state liquor laws and monitor intoxication.
• Prepare and serve beverages with correct measurements and garnish.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and organization per health and safety regulations.
• Monitor and restock bar inventory (kegs, liquor, mixers, garnishes).
• Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and operate the POS; end-of-shift deposits.

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Taps Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. They ensure a clean and well-stocked bar, maintain knowledge of drink recipes and bar equipment, and provide excellent customer service to enhance the guest experience. Positive, outgoing, and energetic individuals who are willing to learn, practice and exemplify the Schweitzer culture of hospitality and teamwork while working in a fun, fast paced adult venue serving alcoholic beverages, and food.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

• Customer service, greet guests, take drink orders, and provide recommendations while ensuring a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Thorough knowledge of our menu is critical.
• ID guests in accordance to Idaho state liquor and identification laws. Monitor guest intoxication and take action or get help, if necessary.
• Prepare and serve beverages, mix, garnish, and serve drinks according to standard recipes or customer specifications. Responsible for ensuring minimal waste by pouring correct measurements.
• Maintain cleanliness by keeping the bar area clean and organized, including glassware, tools, and surfaces, in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor and restock bar inventory such as kegs, liquor, mixers, garnishes, and supplies as needed.
• Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and operate the point-of-sale system efficiently. Turn in accurate deposits with end of shift reports.
• Maintain a positive, upbeat, and energetic attitude toward guests and coworkers. Assists teammates whenever able and develops a good partnership with the servers.

Specific Job Skills:

• License/Certifications- Idaho State Police Alcohol Beverage Training Certificate, we will help you acquire.
• Technical- Basic computer knowledge and comfortable with a computer based point of sale (Squirrel is our current system).
• Physical Capabilities- Able to stand or walk for up to 10 hours per shift. Will lift 25lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Additional- Strong attention to detail. Must be capable of managing and performing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Education/Related Experience:

• Minimum education required- English reading, writing and communication; plus basic math.
• Minimum time in related position- Minimum 2 years bartending experience with demonstrated competence; beer knowledge required and wine knowledge preferred with demonstrated competence.
