We are seeking a versatile, high-energy Bartender & Server to join our team in a fast-paced neighborhood pizza restaurant and bar. In this dual-role position, you will be responsible for crafting cocktails, pouring draft beers, taking food orders, and providing exceptional table service. Whether working behind the bar or on the floor, your goal is to deliver welcoming, efficient service while creating an engaging local atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

Bartending Duties:

• Prepare and serve classic cocktails, beer (draft and bottled), wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and speed-of-service guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar station, including ice, glassware, garnishes, and liquor inventory.
• Check customer IDs to ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements and monitor intoxication levels responsibly.
• Process cash and card payments accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system and balance the register drawer at end-of-shift.

Server Duties:

• Greet guests promptly, seat parties, and present food and drink menus with recommendations.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system and communicate dietary needs or modifications clearly to the kitchen staff.
• Deliver food hot and fresh from the kitchen to tables, ensuring all items match guest orders.
• Maintain table hygiene by clearing empty plates, glasses, and trash throughout the dining experience (pre-bussing) and resetting tables quickly for new guests.

General Operational Expectations:

• Collaborate with kitchen staff, hosts, and management to ensure smooth service and fast table turn times.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including restocking, deep cleaning, sanitizing work areas, and garbage removal.
• Resolve guest complaints or service issues promptly and professionally, involving management when necessary.
• Adhere to all health code, sanitation, and safety regulations regarding food handling and alcohol serving.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a bartender and/or server in a casual dining or full-service restaurant/bar environment.
• Certification: State-required Responsible Alcohol Service certification (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol) and Food Handler certification preferred or required upon hire.
• Technical Skills: Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and proficiency with POS software (e.g., Toast, Square, Clover).
• Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand and walk for extended shifts (6–8+ hours), lift/carry up to 30–50 lbs (e.g., bus tubs, liquor cases, beer kegs), and bend or reach comfortably.
• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, multi-tasking under pressure, a strong work ethic, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
